With many farmers retiring from farming, transition agreements (where one farmer is looking to pass on the management of their land and farm to a new generation) are becoming more and more common. Whether passing on a farm to a family member or a non-family member, land affordability is the number one challenge identified by new and young farmers, and requires creative solutions to successfully pass on management of the farm.

This panel discussion will feature farmers who will share their own experiences with farm transition, supported by the B.C. Land Matching Program (delivered by Young Agrarians). Attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of what transition agreements are, how they work, and some inspiration for the future of their own farm.”
