This panel session brings together alumni from Canadian Organic Grower’s Organic Vegetable Seed Production course, new and experienced seed growers, and interested farmers to explore what it takes to grow quality organic vegetable seed.

We’ll dig into common barriers to growing seed , share practical tools for integrating seed into diversified farm operations, and highlight opportunities for deeper engagement, such as public breeding programs, and mentorship. We’ll also make space for open discussion and questions such as: What are the barriers to growing seed? What infrastructure or support is missing for farmers?

Whether you’re just curious or already producing seed, this session offers both practical insight and a chance to connect with peers and programs shaping the future of seed in BC.
