2025 BC Organic Conference Session
Science-Driven Climate Solutions for Organic Farms
Organic farmers are already adapting to climate change—but what tools, practices, and research can make that work easier and more effective?
This session brings together BC-based research teams from the Organic Science Cluster 4 (OSC4) focused on real-world solutions for organic producers. Each team will give a short overview of their work, covering topics like improving pollination and pest control with habitat strips, building soil health through compost and cover crops, developing resilient seed varieties, and supporting farm transitions through agroecological networks. The focus is on what’s working, what’s promising, and what’s ready to try on the farm.
A panel discussion will follow, with questions that connect the research to everyday decisions—like managing costs, improving yields, and building long-term resilience. Whether you’re looking for new ideas or want to share your experience, this session offers a chance to learn from current research and connect with others working toward climate resilience in organic farming.
