Dr. Mehdi Sharifi
Dr. Mehdi Sharifi is a distinguished research scientist specializing in soil nutrient management at the Summerland Research and Development Centre in British Columbia, Canada. Prior to his current role, Dr. Sharifi served as a professor at Trent University and Dalhousie University. He has completed two postdoctoral fellowships, in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
Dr. Mehdi Sharifi has made significant contributions to his field through numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
His research focuses on enhancing the environmental sustainability and resilience of agricultural systems through the selection, modeling, and management of cover crops, as well as researching novel approaches to integrated soil nutrient management.
Additionally, Dr. Sharifi is deeply involved in Indigenous Food Systems research, contributing to the propagation and ethno-agronomy of culturally significant food-plant species.
